MVP’s, Products, companies and community meet once in a year to explore, share knowledge, collaborate, deepen their insights about the platform & tools and catchup up on the latest updates of SharePoint & Office 365. With Office 365, the SharePoint release cycle has accelerated with a number of new innovations and capabilities introduced in every 6 months or less. While Microsoft’s SharePoint Conference used to be the destination for all these news and updates which is now superseded by Microsoft Ignite, showcasing updates from SharePoint & Office 365 and other Microsoft Solutions such as Azure, Dynamics, Windows & Enterprise IT, Private Cloud, etc.
The Ignite stage has become bigger and bigger and its really hard to follow all the SharePoint & Office 365 news. So we really think ESPC is the destination where we all SharePoint nerds are hoping to get the right insights. European SharePoint Conference has evolved as the biggest conference dedicated to SharePoint & Office 365 and covering a wide spread of regions in Europe, Middle-East and Asia.
ESPC 2016 is happening in Vienna (14-17th Nov) with its picturesque views, great Opera houses, and calm and serene atmosphere where we can engage our thoughts, meet great minds and explore the show floor to see the innovations happening right on. With our bags packed, Airbnb booked, camera lenses polished and our checklists prepared, here are our 5 things to look forward @ ESPC 2016
1. SharePoint & Office 365 news distilled at Keynotes
With SharePoint 2016 gaining wide adoption, Windows Server 2016 going General Availability (GA), hybrid farms tossed in conversations, more and more customers are moving to Office 365 and lots and lots of updates and capabilities announced at this year’s Ignite. We are eagerly looking forward for the keynotes to get the news distilled and define takeaways, so that the community can evolve along with the evolution of SharePoint. It’s been a quite exciting year for SharePoint & Office 365; Things to pay attention are Office 365 roadmap, Feature Pack updates for SharePoint 2016, OneDrive for Business updates, Power Apps, Deploying SharePoint on Azure Pack for Private Clouds and finally the security and compliance enhancements on On-Premise and Cloud.
2. It’s all about the Future of Office 365 & open platform for development
SharePoint with its move to Office 365 has matured a lot recently and with the capabilities of the cloud it has been more powerful. With Office 365 becoming the go to platform for enterprises, lot and lots of innovations and enhancements have been made core and integral of the platform. As you all know with any major enhancements there will be a lateral shift in the pattern and practices followed and even new application models for ISV’s to adapt and enhance. Office 365 & SharePoint is no more limited to Collaboration & Content ISV’s and now is open for all to integrate and build upon. We are more eager to hone our skills at ESPC with the knowledge of Modern Team Sites, PnP partner pack, SharePoint framework, Lean & Agile ALM practices, Power Apps & Flow and ever so important Office 365 groups and Microsoft Graph.
3. Learn effective strategies to convince your clients (& yourself) on the Office 365 Move
For two/three days the great minds and MVP’s of the platform are here to share their knowledge, pains they endure, migrations they conquered and pathways they adapted. With SharePoint migrations also offered as part of FastTrack, Cloud Migrations to accelerate large content moves and everyone behind increasing the adaption & consumption of Office 365, it is essential to strike a good balance and drive customer to an efficient base. ESPC has great sessions lined up to help us master these moves and build a very own playbook tackling all the issues. We believe attending this year’s ESPC can surely help to win over the clients to adapt the future of enterprise.
4. Gain the right knowledge on latest patterns and challenge the dev’s with Pre-Conference workshops and hackathon
ESPC has always been the destination of SharePoint love from the European community. This year is more big and vibrant with the hackathons and workshops aimed at novice & pro developers to adapt and showcase their skills. Office 365 is now a more open platform with Microsoft Graph and powerful API’s for all of the built-in product suites calling all large and small dotNet or open source developers to build amazing apps and experiences on the platform. With the Office 365 PnP team available on the floor for the hackathon and have lined up some great sessions to guide us and get us hooked to the latest patterns.
5. Visit Partner booths and gain some cool swag
ESPC is much more than a developer’s interexchange at Vienna. ESPC has been widely accepted by the ISV’s and the Microsoft Partner Community for showcasing their latest products, solution, services and thought leadership on the exhibition floor. Witness the latest innovations and new releases of the products and understand how it can add up to your toolbelt and assist in your work. While you are on the floor grab some cool swags and participate in contests/jackpots.
